LAND-at-scale (LAS)
LAND-at-scale is a land governance support programme of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, managed by the Netherlands Enterprise and Development Agency (RVO). The programme contributes to improving land governance as a building block for food security, economic development, and peace and stability in developing countries. LAND-at-scale strives to contribute towards more equal access to land and natural resources, reduced conflicts and competing claims and more sustainable and efficient use of land for food, housing and production. As a result, LAND-at-scale will contribute to many of the SDGs, including 1, 2, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 15, 16 and 17.
LAND-at-scale is a demand-driven programme and its projects and interventions depart from requests of Dutch Embassies and their in-country partners and contain the upscaling of successful pilots or innovative pilots with upscaling potential. Each intervention is tailor-made and based on stakeholder analysis. LAND-at-scale aims to link different sectors including technical, legal, socio-economic approaches to improved land governance, and features a dedicated knowledge management component to support adapting programming. LAND-at-scale engagement in countries therefore can involve a single intervention, but more often exists of several, related interventions needed to achieve change. Within the IATI database related LAND-at-scale interventions refer to each other to give a complete picture of the sets of activities in target countries.
