Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) in Developing Markets
Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) in Developing Markets is an innovation competition with several calls running on specific challenges in developing countries.
SBIR in Developing Markets supports Dutch entrepreneurs to come up with innovative solutions for certain challenges and use their knowledge and skills in cooperation with local entrepreneurs. SBIR in Developing Markets support focusses on research and development, and ultimately aims to make a positive contribution to local entrepreneurship and to have local impact. Local impact is translated into fitting an innovation and entrepreneurship in the local context of each formulated challenge, taking into account local systems, networks and markets and a solution for a longer period of time, based on an actual business model.
The Netherlands Enterprise Agency administers SBIR in Developing Markets at the request of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
