Impact Cluster: CocoaTechD'Ivoire

The CocoaTechD'Ivoire consortium proposes a radically different approach to achieve in-country value retention of the cocoa value chain, by adding more value at the cooperative level. Processing cocoa at the cooperative level on a commercial scale is unprecedented in the country, but is now feasible through collaboration with sector experts, investors, and technical experts across the entire value chain.

The initiative aims to create and retain more value at the cooperative level by transforming cocoa beans into cocoa mass, improving bargaining power, reducing losses, and establishing a stable off-take for cocoa farmers. Additionally, it seeks to create a revenue redistribution model, generate sustainable jobs in rural Côte d'Ivoire, increase access to knowledge, strengthen cooperatives, and develop a replicable business model for positive impact scaling.
