Impact Cluster: Mid-tech solution protected horticulture
This project, part of the combi-track Sustainable Horticulture, involves a consortium of eight Dutch and Bangladeshi companies and knowledge institutions working together to enhance sustainable and competitive productivity in Bangladesh's horticulture sector.
Through knowledge exchange and business opportunities, the project aims to improve the sector's enabling environment. Upon completion, a demonstration greenhouse equipped with mid-tech solutions suitable for local conditions will be established for tomato cultivation. Additionally, hands-on practical training programmes will be conducted in both greenhouse and classroom settings for the benefit of Bangladeshi companies and knowledge institutions.
Following the project's conclusion, new business opportunities for greenhouse establishment will be developed and promoted, sustainable horticultural practices and technologies will be adopted, and new jobs and enterprises will be created.
