Impact Cluster: Improving Distribution of Health Supplies in Kenya
In this project, "Improving Distribution of Health Supplies in Kenya", six cluster partners from the Netherlands and Kenya combine their knowledge, experience and networks from an integral approach, strengthening the Kenyan health care sector by introducing innovative health care logistic and supply chain solutions.
The Impact Cluster partners intend to facilitate the deployment of unmanned aircraft, the so-called MiniFreighters, which enable automated, long-range (up to 250 km) airdrops of multiple 20 kg boxes with medical supplies. Precisely and on-demand, allowing for reliable, uninterrupted supply of healthcare products to health facilities in Kenyan areas that are currently difficult to reach by road.
Scaling up the MiniFreighter solution in the health sector in Kenya not only creates new business opportunities in health, but also in aviation, packaging sectors and related technology sectors.
