HortiNord HTDC Subsidy

The context of the horticulture sector in Côte d'Ivoire is characterised by low yields and unsustainable production practices by farmers and the second is the high level of youth unemployment, both for men and women. The project aims to contribute to addressing both of these challenges.

The overall objective of the joint project is to increase the earning capacity of Dutch companies in Côte d'Ivoire while increasing vegetable productivity for Ivorian vegetable farmers. The project would furthermore like to contribute to youth employment and introduction of more sustainable agricultural practices.

The project will be developed at a Plantation in Toumbokro, close to Yamoussoukro.
