DRRS Côte d'Ivoire Scoping 2023

This is an assignment at the request of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

Following recent population displacements in northeastern Côte d'Ivoire, coupled with droughts and desertification in the region, the IOM is seeking a secondment to support their strategy implementation, specifically focusing on improving access to water with a growing emphasis on the impact of climate change on WASH.

Water management is a source of potential conflicts with the progressive increase in population and cattle movements from Burkina Faso and Mali, as well as the end of the raining season in the coming months.

As such, IOM aims to promote Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) principles to ensure the critical role of water in enabling peace.
