EnDev: Energy Access SME Finance Facilitator (Charm Impact)

The Energy Access Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) Finance Facilitator aims to mobilize finance by working with (crowdfunding) financiers to develop a portfolio of viable loans for SMEs in partner countries that operate in the energy access sector.

With little finance available for locally owned companies needing capital between EUR 25,000 and EUR 250,000, the Energy Access SME Finance Facilitator aims to increase the availability of capital in difficult markets. Additionally, it seeks to increase cross-sectoral learning at a portfolio level and possible scaling of best-case practices and insights.

The project objective is to unlock early stage finance by mobilising private capital for at least 15 new enterprises in Endev partner countries and to deliver a minimum of five follow-on loans, within a 24 month period.
