Innovation Window: Introducing new e-cooking solutions in Eastern DRC suburban areas
This project pilots e-cooking distribution in the Democratic Republic of Congo DRC by applying two different approaches and involving two key partners:
- 500 induction hobs (single or dual-burner) will be directly purchased and sold by the energy utility to households (HHs) that will pay upfront a little part of the price (that will be discounted through Demand side subsidies offered by the project) while the remaining value will be paid in instalment through the electricity bill;
- 240 induction hobs will be sold by one or more distributors/retailers (third parties) recommended by another energy utility.
