The overall goal of the project is to contribute to the sustainable development of the smallholder sugar cane growers in the Nkomazi region which should lead to 

  1. Increased income levels and a reduction of the poverty and food insecurity of the rural poor, 
  2. Sustainable management and use of the water resources in the Komati river basin.
