Decentralised business model for sanitation bio-fertiliser and energy

The business case is built on two pillars:

  • The WASH model on one hand with controlled sourcing of liquid waste by establishing a certified Toilet Services Network (TSN), combined with controlled solid waste collection in a Solid Waste collection Network (SWN).
  • The Waste Re-use model with waste treatment and production and sale of the end-products bio-fertilizer to farmers and delivery of green electricity to the grid.

The project will benefit approximately 125,000 people by the end of 2016, which corresponds to approximately 50% of the total population in the target municipality.
