Micro Power 30

The initial project aimed at providing 30 villages in rural Senegal with a solar-diesel hybrid minigrid to which customers can be connected. An innovative prepaid system, including load management, facilitates easy operation and maximum usage of generated electricity.

The goal of the initiative is to offer rural customers reliable power supply through the innovative business model MicroPowerEconomy that enhances social, environmental and economic sustainability for both the rural customers and the power provider.

A first batch of 5 villages has been electrified in 2014.

Due to a lack of cofinancing, the whole programme could not be completed before the end date of the project.
