Netherlands Wash Programme workshop

The Netherlands embassy in Accra, Ghana (further: the embassy) and the government of Ghana have embarked on a multi-annual programme on Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH). The Ghana-Netherlands WASH Programme (GNWP) focuses on integrated urban water and sanitation in five selected municipalities.

Goal of the project

To strengthen the individual WASH projects and increase the impact of the combined projects by thoroughly explaining all aspects of the programmes and strengthening the WASH network, sharing experiences and looking for synergy.

This project was implemented within the framework of the L4ED programme (Local Economic Development/Leads for Economic Diplomacy) and initiated by the Netherlands representation.

The project aimed to contribute to (the enabling environment for) local private sector development, as well as economic diplomacy. It concerns a small intervention that serves as a catalyser for further developments.
