Dr. One Proof of Concept
Applicants tackle the last kilometers in the delivery of medical goods to health posts in Ghana, which is often hampered by the bad condition of roads by creating a custom-made unmanned aerial system (drone) for the transport of essential medical goods (both for emergencies and for stock supply) by air from a hospital to a (remote) health post.
Once functional, this system will address access to better SRHR and to drugs/vaccines to combat poverty related diseases.
The technical goal is to produce a functional prototype and test it in Ghana.
Meanwhile, business models for future production, exploitation and maintenance of drones are investigated.
Other partners focus on (flight) rules and local acceptance.
This project is part of a larger Master Plan.
