Mobile Solutions for Scaling up Access to Quality Healthcare in Nigeria
PharmAccess, Kwara State Government and Hygeia have been working together with local communities and traditional leaders since 2007 to implement the Kwara State Health Insurance Programme.
A major challenge has been building the capacity of the primary health care centres to deliver sexual and reproductive health care and treatment for poverty-related diseases.
To address the human capacity issues of the primary care centres, mHealth solutions involving telemedicine and medical call center will be established.
Primary care centers in rural Kwara will be linked to district hospitals, which will be connected to the teaching hospital and the specialised medical center in Ilorin (capital of Kwara State) and Hygeia hospitals in Lagos.
