The Netherlands - Indonesia Cooperation on Waste & Circular Economy

This programme is aimed at strengthening Indonesian waste management and prevention, including its transition towards a more circular economy and its challenge of marine litter.

The Indonesian-Dutch cooperation will focus on assistance in policy development and implementation taking into account compliance and enforcement. In doing so, the programme will entail demonstration projects in integrated waste management and recycling.

The programme further aims to enable and contribute to the identification of business opportunities and partnerships and to create an enhanced business environment for private sector actors focused on waste management and prevention. Finally, the programme includes the facilitation of a public private partnership (green deal) focussed on addressing (marine) litter caused by single use packaging (a.k.a. sachet) waste.
