Improving Health Supply Chain Management

The South African government has identified several issues in the performance of supply chains and procurement procedures. In the Life Science and Health (LSH) sector, Supply Chain Management (SCM) is hampered by the experience and skills of responsible staff, a lack of transparency, and poorly aligned systems and procedures between provinces. As a result, the LSH-SCM could perform much better than it currently does, causing problems with available stock and prices of pharmaceutics.

This project will strengthen the responsible actors in the South African SCM system through several trainings that generate broad understanding, support, and eventual implementation of more transparent SCM systems.
