Regional Water Security Study (RWSS)

A project to support decision makers in the Yangon region to effectively make decisions based on an integrated vision on water security in the region, and provide the technical and analytical preparation for World Bank funded interventions planned for 2021 and beyond. The project uses a hydrodynamic model of the water system around Yangon previously developed by the Netherlands. Existing and future development plans will be assessed using the model for cumulative impact and potential mutual negative effects, a list of no-regret measures for water security will be developed for future financing and the capacity of decision makers will be developed towards the use of threshold values for water sewcurity and integrated planning of interventions.
