ASR application in the Vietnamese Mekong
This project will implement a pilot to install a single aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) system in Hau Giang Province, Vietnam, with technical and financial support from the local water company (HaWaSuCo), the German Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
The project aims at building the first infiltration well in the Vietnamese Mekong Delta, operate and monitor the well during the project, demonstrate its success, disseminate the results and engage stakeholders for scaling up, and carry out bankability and cost-benefit analyses.
Succesful demonstrsation of this technology can have very significant impact on water security in the Mekong Delta.
