Hope and food for dry Burkina Faso

The project works in four provinces in Northern Burkina Faso to improve food availability and food security for 6,000 smallholder farmers and their families.'Cultivating Hope and Food for Dry Burkina Faso' aims to strengthen the resilience of food systems in northern Burkina Faso, targeting 6,000 smallholder farmers (with specific measures for 60% female, 60% youth and 10% most vulnerable farmers).The project aims to address the problems of soil degradation, low agricultural productivity, limited access to services and markets and food and nutrition insecurity affecting smallholder farmers. It focuses on three interconnected pathways:1. improving soil quality and resilience to climate change,2. enhancing agricultural productivity and income diversification, and3. addressing undernourishment in farmer households.The project will train farmers in sustainable practices, enable access to land and resources, and specifically target the needs of female farmers to enhance overall food and nutrition security in the region.
