Bringing clean energy on credit to urban base of the pyramid households in East Africa through a sales force of disadvantaged youth and women
Livelyhoods is a not-for-profit social enterprise founded in 2011 that creates jobs for youth and women in Kenyan slums through the distribution of life-improving products. Their product basket includes affordable, high quality, and eco-friendly products not otherwise readily available in slums, including, but not limited to, clean-burning cookstoves, solar products, reading glasses, and household appliances. Livelyhoods is active in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Under the SDG7 Results facility Livelyhoods will focus on clean cooking in Kenya only. They will roll out an innovative new credit program in their existing nine branches and establishing new training and distribution activities in selected new peri-urban and rural communities.
