DIB supporting KOKO Networks clean ethanol cooking for peri-urban and near-rural households in Kenya

KOKO focusses on mainstreaming liquid bio-ethanol cooking fuel as a fast, safe and affordable alternative to dirty cooking fuels such as charcoal.

They partner with the downstream fuels industry and offer a suite of distribution, dispensing and end-use technologies.

Under the SDG7 Results facillity, KOKO aims to target a new customer segment in their Greater Nairobi network.

Currently, KOKO's core customers earn US$200 to US$500 per month.
Through targeted marketing approaches and customer credit schemes, KOKO wants to reach households which earn around US$100 per month.
