LEAP2 – Bridging the digital gap
BOOST is a comprehensive project that exists to support the growth of decent work, green business, and access to sustainable technology, while fostering the circular economy of Mombasa.
The project will contribute to bridging the digital divide, by refurbishing and supplying a total of 60,000 ICT assets, creating 327 direct and 281 indirect jobs for youth (100%) and women (50%) by 2022, and by building the capacity of 1,400 ICT related professionals.
Eventually, the project aims to contribute to improving the standards for e-waste by raising awareness on the health, safety and environmental hazards of e-waste and the importance of properly maintaining and disposing of it.
