Building inclusive value chains for organic cotton, sesame and shea

The project will develop organic cotton, sesame and shea value chains, that provide the target group of 25,000 smallholder farmers (refugees, internally displaced people and host communities) to secure access to the international market.

Cotton and sesame are drought-tolerant crops that the farmer can sustainably grow in rotation. In this way, the project will address poverty in northern Uganda by empowering, capacitating and supporting targeted farmers to sustainably rebuild their livelihoods, improve income and food security.
