SEE-Clean Cooking: Organic Fertilizer Valorization
The Organic Fertilizer Valorization Implementer (OFVI) collaborates with other projects in the African Biodigester Component (ABC) programme.
OFVI's objective is to increase the use and valorisation of organic fertilizer among biodigester owners and improve the business cases for investing in biodigesters and thereby sustain demand for and use of biodigesters in the programme's countries. The project contributes to better insight into organic fertilizer use among biodigester users and the barriers to using organic fertilizer and to understanding which crops benefit most from biodigester digestate (bioslurry) and bioslurry-enriched compost (BEC).
OFVI trains biodigester enterprises and public extension workers on the production and use of bioslurry and BEC to boost local compost markets, and supports the development of policy for soil health and standardization of compost.
