Keep Ukraine Warm and Healthy (Borodyanka)
This project focuses on the replacement and expansion of two old and damaged boiler houses in Borodyanka. The partners will install a new plug-and-play biomass combustion system, which will provide heating and hot water to two of Borodyanka's health institutions and part of the community. By introducing biomass boilers:- 1,600 patients and 220 households will receive secure (year-round) heating and hot water; and- Borodyanka will become less dependent on gas and will reduce CO2 emissions. This marks the first step towards the creation of a smart heating network which is new in Ukraine.Together the project partners not only address immediate energy security needs but also support Ukraine’s green recovery, aligning with national energy strategies and Ukraine's goal to Build Back Better. By using biomass, not only the price for heating will drop, CO2 emissions will also go down and the efficiency of the system will be much higher than the previous heating system. This project is designed, engineered and built by KARA Energy Systems, Almelo, the Netherlands and MUST-IPRA/KotloTurboProm, Kharkiv, Ukraine.
