Additional work for developing detail design of a pilot project “Sponge Garden” at the water utility of NAWASSCO in Nakuru

The Nakuru Water And Sanitation Services Co Ltd. (Nawassco) office at Government Road has a (permeable) paved parking spot that can be used for a Sponge City Garden pilot project. Transforming the parking area and part of the walkway alongside the main road, into a Sponge Garden, Nawassco and the City Manager can set the example and demonstrate Sponge City measures.

This project will serve as showcase for inspiration on how to implement small scale water safety projects and also serve as a location for capacity development through local educational programmes.

The project will be developed together with the authorities of NAWASSCO and the City Manager of Nakuru, through online design sessions. Defacto also counts with the local support of VEI as local strategic advisor, and a local professional with experience in small scale building projects.
